I would like to think I take a travelers perspective when listing accommodations. I try to focus first on a good central location where you can easily walk to the city center and most of the monuments. Remember in Granada that saying close to the Alhambra means you will not be in a convenient location to see the rest of the cities monuments and neighborhoods. Within the criteria of location, I try to offer a selection of places which are pleasant and offer good service. Also I try to cover a range of prices. You will find that these vary even within the category of the hotels. While Seville seems to have plenty of 2 star hotels, but few 3 star establishments, I find the opposite is true in Granada: there are more options at the 3 star level than the 2 star level. Why this is I don't know, but often the official classification rules (different from city to city) influences the category assigned. Finally, I make a few selections which may be a little further from the sights (still fairly central) but are worth it for the accommodation itself.

A short list of recommended hotels in the city center. You can follow the links to make a booking for any hotel which helps support this site! I really believe that category should only be a basic guide for amenities because there is a wide range of quality within each category. Also, the official classification system has it's "flexibilities", and some required amenities or facilities may be omitted if others are offered. I recommend deciding on what amenities and qualities you are looking for in a hotel and then making sure the accommodation has those.
